What is trainwell?
Trainwell offers one-on-one training and nutrition guidance with real human trainers as well as all the benefits of an app, like advanced motion tracking and a huge library of exercises with detailed instructions.

We’re a human-driven program: everyone gets individual attention from their trainer and receives personalized fitness programs based on their goals and fitness levels. Our goal is to help people make fitness a seamless part of everyday life.
What is Caliber?
Caliber is a science-based fitness app that focuses on helping individuals build muscle and lose weight through one-on-one coaching and meal plans. The app's fitness trainers customize plans based on your individual goals and fitness levels. Caliber also considers other factors, like body composition metrics, to help you focus on the areas you need to improve and achieve your fitness goals.
Trainer expertise
Trainwell
To give our clients the best services, each trainer who joins our team has at least three years of experience and is a certified personal trainer with a bachelor's degree.  Further, to ensure commitment and dedication to their work, we hire the trainers on a full-time contract and provide among the best salaries and benefits globally!
Caliber
Caliber also hires expert trainers and nutrition coaches to guide clients through their workouts and nutrition plans. However, 1:1 access to these trainers requires the Premium membership plan.
User experience and interface
Trainwell
Trainwell includes advanced features like smartwatch integrations, motion tracking, progress tracking, and points/leaderboards. You can easily schedule video check-in calls with your trainer through the app, allowing you to seek advice whenever necessary.
Caliber
The Caliber app is relatively easy to navigate, but there are some limitations: some video demos don't load, and while Premium users can chat with their trainer via the app, they can only send a single image at a time.
Cost-effectiveness
Trainwell
Trainwell customers pay $99 for a monthly subscription. With the average cost of an in-person trainer ranging between $50 and $100 per hour (or per session), this is quite a steal for clients looking for cost-effective training guidance. You also get a free 14-day trial period when you sign up to get a feel for our trainers and services before committing to a monthly subscription.
Caliber
To enjoy Caliber’s science-based one-on-one training, you need a Premium subscription, which goes for $600 (Level 1), $800 (Level 2), and $1,400 (level 3) per three months. While this may be affordable for some, it may be cost-prohibitive for many.
Progress tracking

Trainwell
Trainwell tracks everything from sets and range of motion to health metrics like your heart rate. You can expect a breakdown of your personal best accomplishments, a visual of the muscles used in each workout, and a video call with your personal trainer to ensure you consistently push for better results.

With our motion-tracking feature (compatible with Apple Watch and Android Wear OS devices), you get real-time feedback on whether your range of motion is as it should be for maximum effectiveness. Your trainer will then review all collected data and make necessary adjustments to make your next session.
Caliber
Caliber uses algorithm-informed measurements to track customers' progress and assigns scores based on how well one completes their exercises. However, it's unclear which exercises contribute to the scores. Because only Premium clients have access to weekly check-ins with their trainers, other customers don't always get professional assistance when it comes to adjusting their workouts based on their progress.
Why trainwell?
While both options are among the best in the fitness industry, trainwell offers more personalization at a lower cost. Trainwell is more than just an app or a trainer — it delivers everything both options have to offer by providing one-on-one personal training, advanced progress tracking, an extensive exercise library with detailed instructions, and flexible training programs based on your personal data. If you're looking for a flexible, customized, effective, and sustainable solution to help you achieve your goals, try trainwell!
